Kurt’s First Photoshoot at The Picture Company

A few months after Kurt was born, I was asked if I could do a family shoot with The Picture Company (TPC). I didn’t have to think twice – we tried TPC before when Kyle was a baby. As a family, mahilig talaga kami mag-photo shoot (we really like having photo shoots). We’ve tried different studios or booking photographers and venues. Our experience with TPC has been very good so far. They’re conveniently located inside malls, which is a big plus. Usually other studios are hard to book, while others don’t have the level of service we expect inquiry palang. For our other shoots, we would book hotels and have a staycation but it involves a lot of work in terms of coordination. There’s the photographer, the stylist, make-up artist, plus the venue booking. With TPC, it’s so easy because I can go almost anytime and I don’t really have to prepare anything. They have props and styled spaces within the studio for themed shoots. With baby photos, you really want them to come out really cute and the props make a difference. TPC has that part covered really well.

I’ve tried TPC in Rockwell and Glorietta and I discovered that each space has its own setup. I thought both studios will have the same props and themes but I was delighted to find that every TPC location is unique. I think that’s a real plus because I can have a different photoshoot experience in each store. They’re pros at taking baby photos – they even have funny sounds to make the baby smile or giggle and feel comfortable. The only downside is minsan malamig  talaga (sometimes it really gets cold) for babies. Since they’re inside the mall, TPC can’t control the air-conditioning in their studios. Babies will have a tendency to cry because of the temperature, but it’s easy enough to work around it. When there’s a shoot where the baby has to be naked, they just do it really quickly and cover up the baby again right after. The TPC team is really experienced and know how to deal with baby shoots.

If you’re going for a baby shoot for the first time, it’s a good idea to bring extra layers and blankets, as well as milk for your baby. When the baby feels tired or hungry, you can feed your him and he’ll be okay after. My other advice is to not push too much – when your baby looks tired, just take a rest before trying again. The TPC team understands and believe me, they’re super patient.

When I agreed to have a shoot with TPC, even though I know they will have everything ready, I still decided to prepare some things on my end. I hired a make-up artist, my good friend Muriel Vega Perez. I wanted to look beautiful (of course!) 🙂 He helped boost my confidence with his magic brushes and I arrived at TPC with my best face forward.

I really enjoyed working with the TPC team in Glorietta – they were really fun and easy to be with. They’re also very professional and everything went smoothly. At one point I was actually kind of worried about Kyle and his excessive energy but the team was able to manage him well. Kinaya nila yun kakulitan ni Kyle (They were able to take Kyle’s playfulness). Special mention to Ces, the operations manager for TPC, who was really nice and made a point to visit us during our shoot. I also want to acknowledge Kat, the branch manager, and her team for being so easy and fun to work with. They were extremely patient and super great with kids. Watch my vlog so you get what I mean (soon!).  We were supposed to have just a few layouts but we ended up with more layouts than planned. I was really happy with the results and in fact, I had a hard time choosing the photos I want to keep. The photos were really nice and good and CUTE.

The all-star team at TPC Glorietta.

With TPC, you’re definitely in good hands. They have well set-up rooms, wonderful props, and they even have costumes! I always bring clothes for the kids when we have a photo shoot. With the costumes, though, you can just literally step into TPC and have a family shoot while you’re in the mall. You really don’t need to worry about anything at all – just show up. Just a personal tip for mommies – don’t forget to still look beautiful. Put in a little effort for the beautiful YOU to shine in your photos.

Shout out to The Picture Company Glorietta branch for making our family photo shoot with Kurt absolutely wonderful! Thank you for capturing our family milestones and being part of our happy memories. Our photos are gorgeous – I couldn’t have asked for more.
